Runcible Studios’ Design and Strategy Consulting for Developers grew out of a need we identified in the market - small and/or inexperienced developers don’t have large staffs or deep internal resources, and hiring an Architect during early stages of a project is expensive and unwieldy. Enter our consulting services - a nimble, easy to schedule service that gives developers quick access to our insights, advice, and experience in design, construction, and regulatory considerations.

Through this service, we have been able to help smaller developers nationwide, and even internationally, getting them to “yes/no” decisions on parcels, massing, unit counts, and other feasibility questions.

We are also often brought into help developers and their design teams hone their architectural designs - especially around space planning, integration of MEP, construction issues, floor plan layouts, and other design considerations.

Our work product can range from simple sketches from an online strategy session to deep dives and ongoing engagements with in-person site visits, strategy and prototyping, and deep collaboration with in-house design teams.

The images shown here are from work with one client over several projects; our task was to create a series of unit and building prototypes, vetted for structure, code, constructability, MEP coordination, and design, for this developer to deploy across projects in both urban and suburban contexts. We also developed mixed-use and community based prototypes, as well as design guidance for their internal design and construction teams.
