We love an adaptive reuse project, and when our clients in Greenwich, CT brought us this former nuts and bolts factory, we were immediately on board! The building had many lives, most recently as a school and office space, but working with the local architect of record, we transformed it into a modern, fun coworking space.
Drawing on two main aesthetic visions - the building's industrial past and the building's location in coastal Connecticut - we brought together a unique aesthetic and functional vision. We had some fun with the bathrooms, contrasting whimsy and boldness with the more serious common spaces. Even work should be fun sometimes!
Working closely with the local architect of record, we functioned as design consultants, coming up with the vision, design direction, and choosing all aesthetic elements for the project.
That doesn't mean we just made "pretty pictures," though - we with the team from beginning to end, helping think through everything from furniture to HVAC layout, from construction feasibility to wallpaper selections!
