When we started this project we knew that the Runcible team was capable of executing exactly what we wanted design-wise, but had little understanding how important their breadth of expertise was. Marilyn and the team took real ownership of delivering the entire construction project, immediately put it on a strong project management foundation, and started working on a multitude of complex zoning, civil and structural engineering, budgeting, and design interactions.
The level of ownership and quality in their work is impossible to overstate. For example, when the zoning code was ambiguous on a key detail, the outdoor stairs to the basement, they established direct contact with the city planning office and built good confidence that what we wanted to do was aligned with their thinking.
A project of this scale has thousands of decisions to make, from joist stiffness to grout color, and the Runcible team was phenomenal about making sure that at every juncture we had a curated set of options that let us manage decision fatigue and kept the design coming together as a cohesive whole. I couldn’t be happier with the final product.
